Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to say "Yeah, I agree." Those who do will be lynched. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. RQR: will be prepended to it. 3. Do not engage in a point-by-point analysis or rebuttal of another person's message. It is too confusing for others to follow, qualifies as nit-picking, and it usually leads to flame wars. 4. There is no number 4. This should be a general solution involving all skills not just cult >ones. I use the basic RQ3 method (Players book P37) then kludge it. Popular trainers cost more, as do those with better and/or rarer skills. How much does the _trainer_ think their skills are worth, and how much money do they need. Sometimes the kludge is because I've given the PCs too much treasure, sometimes too little, and sometimes it is a hook to something else. Why does he charge so much? Drinking. Why does he drink so much? (insert plot here). And if a player ever says "But P37 of the Players Book states that..." then I, for one, would love to hear your answer! I agree that some shaman would do this, but many would see this practice as the RW equivalent of cash-for-qualifications. Most shaman would require that the spell be earnt by besting the spirit in combat. Although the shaman has some control over how strong a spirit is summoned, I expect that most would regard the final choice as being in the hands of the Horned God, or whoever. Just my take, of course. In my campaigns if a player wish to train I give them the following chart. This chart has been very useful, because it requires little GM assistance. My player are very happy with this chart, because its easy to use. First, find an instructor, determine class size, deduct the money and keep a running total of time spend. Hope this help.
