Do not include large sections of a message in your reply. Especially not to add "Yeah, I agree" or "No, I disagree." Or be excoriated. If someone writes something good and you want to say "good show" please do. But don't include the whole message you praise. 2. Use an appropriate Subject line. 3. Learn the art of paraphrasing: Don't just quote and comment on a point-by-point basis. When paraphrasing you demonstrate exactly how well you understand the point someone was trying to make. 4. I'm hopping for that perfect happy >medium. It it possible with my problem? Keeping the number of rolls down in combat is an admirable goal. I've reduced mine by using a fairly radical change in combat system. However, keep in mind that physical spells ALWAYS effect thier target. No Will vs. Will rolls are required since you're not attacking thier souls but causing a direct physical occurance of some element around them. Something has to counter the fact that the spells cannot be ordinarily resisted. You could possible amalgamate the necessary attack skill with the skill required to cast the spell, and change the spell type to a difficult learing rating. Bear in mind that a failed skill roll may result in a sucessfuly summoned fireball but a failed throw (or suchlike). Catch Ya. On an interesting thread, what do most of you favor for backgrounds and skills for starting characters of novice players? I've had good luck using a moderately skilled man at arms type background. Starting the new PCs as novice magicians has proven much more dicey.
